Cedric E. Lyons, Sr.
President/CEO, 411 Sports & Entertainment
Cedric E. Lyons, Sr. is a native of Dallas, Texas, graduating from Duncanville High School in the top 10% of his class in 1989. He went on to obtain an Associates Degree of Applied Science in Visual Communications from The Art Institute of Dallas in 1991.
Mr. Lyons has over 20 years experience as a Graphic Designer as well as over 7 years as Publisher, Editor, Staff, and Guest Writer for various newsletters, newspapers, and magazines.
As President/CEO of 411 Sports & Entertainment (411 S&E), he provides the latest information in sports and entertainment to the masses in the Dallas-Ft. Worth Metroplex and in various cities across the United States. Currently being published twice per month, 411 Sports & Entertainment is the only African American sports newspaper in the nation. Mr. Lyons is also the CEO and founder of World Production and Design providing graphic design services for different projects and newspapers (411 Sports & Entertainment, The Dallas Weekly, and Elite News) as well as various other projects including producing materials for Radio Shack, La Quinta Inn, Pier 1 Imports, Ace Check Cashing, Williams & Dickie, Senator Royce West Celebrator of Leadership, The Martin Luther King Parade, Youth Sports Summit, and many more. He created and operates a print management system that serves as the official system operated by Blue Cross Blue Shield Illinois and served as the Image and IT Director for the 2007 Don Hill for Mayor Campaign as well as the Carolyn Davis 2007 bid for City Council.
Mr. Lyons began his career in the publication business in sales. He spent two years learning finance with The Associates, a company where he was named employee of the month twice in one year. He then moved to the design field by working for BeautiControl. Subsequently, he served as Director of Creative Services at The Dallas Weekly where he brought the paper from being just a hard copy to becoming a major player on the World Wide Web. With the influx of new computers, Mac and PC's, he established a paper that operated through the network. Mr. Lyons also helped establish the Design Department at Resource Print Management.
His professional and personal experiences have given him opportunities to speak at various events and conferences in order to motivate youth and adults encouraging them to overcome adversity by setting goals, completing their education, and being the best they can be throughout it all. His greatest desire is to create a corporation in order to create careers for hundreds of people as well as a legacy for his children. He is also creating a foundation to educate youth about the inner workings of Visual Communications and Business.
Mr. Lyons is the father of three beautiful young people, Daniel, Cedric, Jr., and Alexandra. In his spare time, he enjoys thinking about building an empire while golfing.
